Partners can have hope: There is always a chance for recovery
The first step to recovery — in any circumstance — is admitting that a problem exists, including those problems that plague a sex addict. Whether the problem is an abuse of pornography or masturbation, the consequence can cause feelings of pain and betrayal for the partner.
Love and sex addicts create a painful paradox for both themselves and their partner. What was supposed to create an intimate relationship can instead result in trauma and pain. The romantic relationship may seem tainted or even void of intimacy after the addiction is brought into the open.
However, there is hope for both sexual addicts and their partners — recovery is always possible, so long as both are willing to commit to working together to improve the situation and the problem. Partners can find hope in a variety of programs in the Coeur d’Alene and Spokane area that will help support recovery.
CDA Counseling has the capacity, training and knowledge to help sexual addicts recover. Addicts and their partners can contact us today to find out more about our programs, or to get started on the road to recovery.
